Municipality of Rizal, Cagayan is a fifth class municipality in the province of Cagayan Philippines. At the time of the Spanish, Spanish friar are making the people of rizal into Christians. Spaniards became thirsty because of thd heat of the sun and the mountainous terrain. One of the malaueg people gave some water to them. The friar asked where the water came from and the man said the word "ueg" which means "fresh water". Then after drinking the water, the friar suffered from stomach ached and utter the word "malo" which means "bad". The word term finally combined and called "Malo-ueg" which means "bad brook". That's why people of Rizal are called "Malaueg". The name of the town name in honor of the Philippine National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal.

Rizal is located Northwest of Tuguegarao City which is 104 km or 65 miles from the city. The place is hilly and mountainous. The neighboring barangays are situated on the slopes of hilly and some are located along the banks of Matalag river and Rizal is politically divided into 29 barangays.

Rizal is the home town of Cagayan's legendary figures "Biuag and Malana" who fought their epic battle for supremacy over the hand of the beautiful "Maguinganay" named "Maria" by sapping valleys of uprooted trees and live cattle.

To see the statue of Biuag, and the reliefing view of beautiful Mountain Malana and the snake like form of Matalag river. You need to cross the footbridge which is 200 meters long. You can take a perfect photography while you were enjoying crossing the bridge.

You need also to climb the 500 steps of stairs to reach the biuag mountain and the malana mountain to see the both view of the two mountain. While climbing the stairs why won't you take a photograph to relief and remove the tired feeling . You can still have the photography while enjoying it.

If you want to try some high and challenging rides. You can have the choices if what kind of rides you want. If you want to glide like a spiderman, you can try the zip line for 650 rountrip ride that is 1.8 kilometers long and this zipline is one of the longest zipline in the country.

Another ride is the engine powered cable car. This is perfect for a family trip adventure. This can carry a maximum number of seven person. In this ride, you can take a heavenly fresh air that comes from the natural environment.

People can also have the picnic along the river. There is a kiosk that can be rented for 300 pesos a day.
